All four take an all-in-one control valve that blocks the oil flow, and all four are built for the narrow ditch and trench work where a roller cannot go.

Nobody in the trench.
A compactor on the excavator reaches as deep as the bucket dug, works the batters a roller cannot get near, and does it without putting a man down a hole beside an unsupported face. On backfill over services it is the difference between a day and an afternoon.
